Homewood Mountain Resort

Homewood is planning to welcome skiers and riders back to the West Shore this winter. An official opening day has not yet been announced.

Construction is underway on a new 8-passenger gondola that will replace the historic Madden Chair and carry guests from the North Base to the future Mid-Mountain Lodge area. Homewood's current goal is to have the gondola ready for the 2026–27 winter season.

The project is also designed to move beginner terrain roughly 1,000 feet higher on the mountain, giving new skiers and riders access to higher-elevation snow and those lake views Homewood is famous for. Longer-term plans include expanded snowmaking, a new high-speed quad replacing Ellis Chair, a new learn-to-ski lift and additional skier services.

Perhaps the biggest question surrounding Homewood in recent years has been whether it would remain accessible to the public. According to the resort's current plans, Homewood will remain a public ski resort, with daily lift tickets, season passes and public amenities remaining part of its future. In fact, 2026–27 season passes are already on sale.
