Downtown Truckee 4th of July Parade

On July 4th, the Downtown Truckee 4th of July Parade is a must-see event. Avid parade spectators often put their folding chairs out at their favorite spot right at daybreak, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to secure the best spot!
From 7 am to 10 am, enjoy a free pancake breakfast at Truckee Fire Station 92, conveniently located right by the start of the parade route from Truckee High School. At 9:45 am, participate in the Firecracker Mile, a 1-mile run along the parade route for runners of all levels. Register online and dress in red, white, and blue to add to the festive spirit.
The parade itself begins at 10 am, starting near Truckee High School and progressing 1.5 miles down Donner Pass Road into historic Downtown Truckee, concluding around noon. There is a free shuttle from Truckee neighborhoods starting at 8 am, making it easier for you to arrive early and find a good spot.
The day ends with a spectacular fireworks show over Donner Lake at 9:30 pm. Plan ahead with your group to view the show from a house, beach, park, or dock around the lake. Consider carpooling, as parking will be very limited.
