SNOWFEST is North Lake Tahoe’s biggest winter festival — a community-powered celebration of snowy season fun, local spirit, live music, contests, family activities, fundraisers, and classic Tahoe events. Founded in 1982, this ten-day festival draws locals and visitors together with 40+ fun, quirky, and unforgettable happenings around the lake.

Feb 26 – Kickoff
• Gar Woods Kick-Off Party & Scholarship Candidate Introductions – 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM — Live blues music, local celebration, and festival kickoff energy to launch SNOWFEST.
Feb 27
• Le Chamois Throwback Party – 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM — DJ, drinks and retro ski vibes in Olympic Valley.
• Nordic Nights – 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM — Night skiing, games, demos, hot cocoa and fun at Cross-country trails.
• Fireworks with the NOMADS – Evening fireworks and live music at Tahoe City Winter Sports Park.
• Fireworks Afterparty – 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM — Continue the celebration with food, drinks and music at Sierra Surf Club.
Feb 28 – Tahoe City Street Faire
• Pancake Breakfast – Morning community breakfast in Tahoe City.
• Frozen Pickle Pickleball Tournament – All-day pickleball fun.
• Tahoe City Street Faire (formerly the parade) – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM — Big community street celebration with music, vendors and winter spirit.
• Gar Woods Annual Polar Bear Swim – Noon – 4:00 PM — A classic chilly plunge tradition.
• Haus SNOWFEST Brewfest – 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM — Local brews, music and social good.
• Post-Street Faire Party at Pete ‘n Peters — Afternoon celebration after the main festivities.
Mar 1 – Sunday Fun
• The Great Ski Race – All-day classic ski race hosted by Tahoe XC Center.
• Dog Pull & Dog Trick Competition – Fun, canine-centric competitions in town.
• I-Did-A-Run Sled Dog Race – Family-friendly sled dog competition.
• Sunnyside Luau (Benefit) – Afternoon party and live music supporting community causes.
