*Tahoe is a beautiful and fun place to visit, but occasionally this area can be affected by extreme weather events. While we never want things like icy roads, road closures, or smoke from wildfires to negatively impact our guests, it can happen. We ask travelers to plan their vacation appropriately for the rural mountain climate and encourage guests to research all travel insurance options, as Tahoe Moon Properties cannot provide refunds for things outside of our control.
Guests seeking a vacation in which style AND adventure intersect will be thrilled to find Tahoe Timbers Cabin. Experience mountain life as you’ve never before in this beautiful little cabin in the big woods! Tastefully remodeled, this traditional Tahoe cabin exudes a cozy atmosphere sprinkled over with modern amenities. Set back in a quiet woodsy neighborhood on the outskirts of the Sugar Pine Point State Forest, this cabin is perfect for a small family or two couples traveling together. About 3 miles from downtown Tahoe City and about 10 miles from Palisades Tahoe (formally known as Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows), this Timberland cabin rental offers a vacation that feels off the beaten trail, but still a short distance away from skiing, hiking, dining, and shopping! As you pull up to the house after a long day of traveling, the stressors of the big city will melt away as soon as you see those gorgeous hanging lights welcoming you into (arguably) the cutest house on the block. Looking just like the winner of last year's Gingerbread House-making contest, Tahoe Timbers Cabin will be waiting for you in all its glory with red painted doors and shutters. PLUS, one of the coolest hot tubs we've seen in a while, lined with skis of yesteryear for your soaking privacy.
Classic knotty pine walls create a woodsy backdrop to the gorgeous modern furniture and adornments throughout. Stylistic touches like modern wall art, hanging antlers, wallpapers, and tasteful nick-nacks aplenty through the cabin make this rental really feel like a home away from home. A flat screen TV, plush seating, updated kitchen and a gas fireplace in a gorgeous stone hearth set the stage for your newest life-lasting memories. And when it's time to retire for the evening, the bedrooms lie upstairs, one with a King and the other with a Full bed, sharing a bathroom. The awe of the morning light streaming in through the trees during your first cup of coffee allows a vacation morning to start as such; slow and easy. But impressively, the wooded seclusion you may fall in love with doesn't mean you have to forgo convenience in the slightest. Nearby, Stanford Rock and Ward Canyon are famous hiking and mountain biking areas that require no driving to get to whatsoever!
The home lies about a mile from endless attractions; the Tahoma Market sits in one direction, and the Chamber's Landing Beach/Restaurant in the other. The famous Eagle Rock hiking trail and even Sunnyside Marina fall within a mile radius as well, so bring your bikes in the summer, and park the car for good when you get here. During winter months, Homewood ski resort is only 3 miles away. Plus -insiders tip- you can even walk the short jaunt to Hurricane Harbor for sunrise or sunset year round!
Hurricane Bay Beach is a Lake Tahoe dog friendly beach offering easy access to the shore, gorgeous Lake Tahoe views and crystal clear water for swimming. This little piece of Heaven is less than a mile walk through the forest and accessible by bike path from the cabin.
Come as you are.... and enjoy this quaint, cozy, and easily accessible Tahoe Cabin, which will leave you wanting to return year after year! Dogs photographed are not included (though we wish they were- for your sake).

Other things to note:
-In the winter months, please note renters should bring only 4WD or AWD cars with snow tires. It's always a good idea to carry chains as well. The driveway is shaded and can get icy, so rear-wheel cars will not be a good fit.
-This driveway is a shared pull-in, and it is VERY important that no access for neighbors is blocked. Plan for only 2 spaces and please be sure to pull up close to one another. Any blocked access for neighbors can result in a fine.
-Important, this property does not have air conditioning. Air conditioners are extremely unusual in North Lake Tahoe
- While some aerial photos show a firepit, there is not a firepit for renter use and exterior fires in Tahoe are strictly prohibited at vacation rental properties.
IMPORTANT:
On March 11th 2022, the county of Placer implemented a new Short Term Rental Ordinance which is very important for guests to abide by. Fines range from $1,500- 5,000 and can be issued to guests who are not in compliance. A full list of rules is attached as a photo in this listing. Some Highlights include:

•Dogs must be leashed at all times when outside of a property and all pet waste needs to be picked up.
